Fine & Performing Arts

All students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 have formal class every week in both the fine and performing arts. Art and Music education are vital elements to a holistic learning experience. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and problem solving techniques through the arts. Students are able to recognize the elements and principles that govern the creative process. They learn about the history and culture that underlie these art disciplines. Students are able to create authentic and expressive work by using their own skills, creativity, knowledge, and experience. Finally, students respond to works using descriptive, analytical, interpretive, and evaluative language.
Lessons and activities are guided by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) for Visual and Performing Arts.
